Jean has been volunteering as a therapy dog handler for the past 13 years. Her first therapy dog, Bella, was a wild Whippet-Terrier mix from Puerto Rico who, after a lot of training, became an amazing therapy dog. She wasn't good with other dogs, but "read" people accurately, and loved nothing better than getting up in bed with a patient who was scared or in pain. Rudy, Jean's second therapy dog, was certified a few months after Bella died in 2018, and is still working in two hospitals and in the special education classroom of a local elementary school. He's a mix as well and is a sweet dog who loves everyone. Jean became an evaluator for Bright & Beautiful Therapy Dogs, Inc. this past year and Rudy is her test dog. All she has to say is: "Rudy, do you want to go to work?" And he runs for the car. Check out two videos about Rudy.
"What Do Toes Do?" A board book for babies and toddlers exploring in a fun way the purpose of toes. The first in a series of six books, "What Does Toes Do?" has beautfiul illustrations showing babies of many backgrounds discovering their toes. Printed in the U.S. it uses soy ink and safe, thick pages that babies can turn themselves. A great gift for families of young children and expectant mothers.
